Ready For Winter

I am so ready for winter. It’s actually a bit distracting for my writing that the pseudo-fall is continuing. I want to be wearing my winter clothes, rather than switching back and forth from summer clothes.

To me, winter encourages reading, especially classic reads like Sheridan Le Fanu and Dickens. I want snow and cross-country skiing and down parkas. Besides, I like my winter clothes more. When it comes to being outdoors, I learned long ago that performance clothing makes a difference. I always buy good quality products from manufacturers like North Face. I figure if you’re out, you might as well be comfortable.

I do my best thinking when I’m walking the trails. I love the quiet of a winter woods. The trails usually have fewer people on them. I can go miles without seeing anyone. It’s the perfect setting for plotting my next mystery.
